Difficult for Spouse to Find Work?

Hi-

My husband's company is sending him from San Francisco to London for 9 months next year. I'm quitting my job (which I wanted to do next year anyway) and joining him.

We didn't think it would be difficult for me to find a job (temp/contract) in London (with a visa) but after reading this forum and some other things online, it seems to be more difficult than I thought.

Is this the case? That I can expect it to be difficult to find a job while over there? I'd look for positions in the design/e-commerce sectors and if that didn't pan out, then some kind of part-time work.

Are visas different than work permits?

I really don't want to sit on my butt for 9 months and thought working would be a great way to learn about the city as well as earn some extra spending money.

Should I be worried about finding a job?

Thank you!

Cleona
