Sculpture commission in UK

I received a commission to do a public sculpture in the UK, funded by a local municipal institution. I'm not looking to relocate permanently, but will need to work on site temporarily (but possibly longer than six months) to complete the project. Does anybody know what visa provision this would fall under? Is a special visa necessary?
