Cats in UK Quarantine advice needed

I am preparing to move to the UK from South Africa and leaving my beloved feline companion behind is out of the question. However I am very worried about putting her in quarantine. Can anyone tell me about their experiences with cats in UK quarantine. How did your cat handle it? Were there any changes to their personalities etc. ? Any advice would be appreciated.
