Moving to London

Guys you have been very helpful and I am accepting the position in London. I am flying over next week for meetings and to find a place to live. Now I have a few questions.

1) What is a good bank to use that will allow me easy access between a US bank and UK (if you have a contact of someone you recommend that would be nice too)
2) What should i bring that either I cannot get in the UK or that is very expensive?
3) Any other trick or tips that you have learned that would help me with an easy transition
