Considering UK move from U.S.

Hi,

My wife and I are considering moving to England to be nearer to her family. She's a UK citizen; I am a U.S. citizen.

A couple quick (I hope!) questions:

1) Would my wife be viewed (and taxed, more importantly) as a UK citizen only (i.e. no taxes to the U.S.), even though she currently holds a U.S. greencard (which she'd be willing to give up), and would be married to a U.S. citizen/non-dom in the UK?

2) Here in the States we've set up a small company, from which we bill all of our freelance work. Would we be able to set up a similar operation in the UK and pay ourselves as employees? What about me as a non-dom?

3) Outside of taxes, what other expenses for schools, healthcare, etc should we be aware of?

Thanks so much--I know I'm asking a lot here, but hope someone on this board might be able to shed some light on these confusing issues for us!

Cheers,

Rob
