Moving to UK from Costa Rica

Hello. I've been reading the posts related with reloctaion in the UK and I've found them very useful. But I still have some questions. My husband was hired by a company in the UK, in thesouth-east area. I understand it's not an ex-patriate deal so I really don't know what we should expect. He signed a contrat (in order to receive the Visa - work permit) but, as far as I know, the company is ONLY doing this:
1. Paying for one-way tickets for the family (we have two boys, 4 and 1-year old)
2. Paying for a B&B for 6-weeks (no meals included)

That's about it. I assume we need some big help, since my husband is moving there first and, hopefully, 2 months later return for us and then we'll move. What can we expect, what could he do now or in 6 months, when he'll sign the "real contract" after his trial?
