Letting Agents

Hello,

My boyfriend and I are moving to London in 3 weeks, and we've begun to look at some apartments online. I was wondering if it is possible to negotiate prices with letting agents. I was told by friends that live there that since the market is down, it may not be a bad idea to try, but I was just wondering if anyone could provide me with any feedback!
