Disabled senior citizen moving to UK

I am a disabled female, 65 years old thinking/wanting to move to the UK, specifically Great Britain. Does Great Britain provide for seniors or disabled people who cannot work? I hear that the older houses, cottages might be cheaper for sale or rent. A friend told me that East Sussex is very nice. Where might I learn some things about towns, villages in East Sussex? Thank you.
