Moving to the UK

Hi,

I am being transfered from the US to the UK for work. I will be temporarily located in Middlesbrough (3 months) and then residing in the London area. My company will be paying the rent.

Can anyone tell me average rental prices in decent neighborhoods in London and in the suburbs, or a resource online where I can find this information? I would like to live in the city, but my company will only pay so much. I'm trying to do some research to figure out what is fair.
