Electronics Across the Pond

I am currently living in the US and considering a move to the UK. I know that a US TV will not pick up the correct frequency in the UK. However, what about TV accessories? I have a DVD surround sound system, a PS2, PS3, and a Wii, not to mention a ton of DVDs and games I wanted to bring with me that fall under US region code. I do not know if the component cables for US TVs are the same as UK TVs. Would my accessories still work on a UK TV? Do I just need transformers + surge protectors + converters + adapters in order to run them (or anything that I'm forgetting/anything I've listed and wouldn't need)? I realize that any DVDs or games I get in the UK will have a different region code and won't work in my US electronics, but I don't want to buy everything I've listed all over again if I don't have to! I also realize that I could get a region code free DVD player, but that still would not help me with my game consoles.

Another question I have is regarding laptops. My laptop has WiFi capability as well as ethernet hook-up. Are there differences in internet access between countries that I would not be able to go online if I move abroad? Is WiFi different than TV broadcast signal in that TVs don't work in other countries, but laptop/internet access does?

If anyone has answers, or a really good link to related articles, I'd appreciate it!
