Moving to UK; Canary Wharf area?

I am considering the move to the UK. MY husband is in the banking industry and would work in the financial district (Canary Wharf). We have two small children and I would like to know if this area is suitable for families?? Are there any good parks or nursery schools close by??
Any advice is welcome. Thanks!!
