I met a wonderful man nearly 3 years ago who was from the UK. I am American and we have maintained this long distance relationship across the great pond for nearly the entire time. Both of us traveling back and forth every few months.
He is an Engineer and his job requires his presence, so I have done the majority of the traveling. I am 41 years old and have gone back to school to finish a degree in Business and Marketing. I have one year left.
We both have children from our previous marriage and this keeps us planted where we are.
I am trying to find a company who will hire me to work both in England and in the US. I currently live in Missouri. Or an idea for a business I could start that would work well in both countries.
Being 41 I have a great variety of work experience and an impressive resume. I have worked in Media, Private Business and Non-Profits.
I could stay in England for up to a month at a time but would want to make my home base in America. Only two of my boys are still at home and I share custody with their father. They are used to me traveling as I did so with my media job and a lot of international travel with the non-profit.
I am open to suggestions or leads. I love this man and he loves me. We are determined to make this work even though we realize it's very untraditional.
I would appreciate any thoughts except for naysayers who feel long-distance relationships never work. We are so over that. ha! Thanks
