US resident applying for a spousal visa.

My wife has ILR and I am in the process of submitting my application to move over and join her in London. Does anyone have any experience with the application process since last year's change, that might be able to give advice regarding the application and supporting documents? Seems impossible to reach anyone at the consulate in order to verify we have all of our ducks in a row.
