Concerns about not having NIN number and Job Searching

Hi there,

I am a dual-citizen of commonwealth country with a UK Passport (British Citizen), first moved to the UK (Scotland) over a year ago. Following the move, I took some time off work to change career directions so haven't been working. I have only been really job searching the past few months or so. I don't have an NIN number and am a bit concerned so I have a few questions since have a job interview in a few days.

- What are the implications/considerations of not having a NIN number prior to securing employment? Should I be concerned?

- What is the perception of the prospective employer if do not have an NIN number? I have the right to live/work...but do employers care?

- Does not having an NIN reflect negatively upon me in any way? If so, any tips for navigating this during negotiations of an employment contract?

Any help would be super appreciated and many thanks in advance.

Cheers
