SF Bay tech workers looking at UK

Seeking advice on moving to UK or Ireland in next couple years. Two tech workers with a kid in college. Looking at options to transfer with our companies but may need to look at new employers if internal options aren't available. Hiking, biking, dining, and nature are priorities. Looking for resources to learn about options, pros/cons, London and Dublin suburbs.
