Hi everyone - now that my husband & I are close to making an offer on a home near Punta del este, I would like to have the equivalent of a home inspection done before making an offer so I am clear on any issues that may exist with the home prior to purchase. Does anyone have anyone they can recommend? Approximate cost? Michael (realtor) mentioned you might hire an architect to check things out.
I am also not clear how the shipping container works. Would the company drop this off near your home for you to load over the span of a few days or do they bring the container & load it? How will I best be able to accurately identify how much of my home /belongings will fit? Then do they deliver near your home or in your driveway to unload? Do you unpack it or pay movers or is that part of the service provided by the shipping company?
What is involved with getting your child enrolled in school - looking at St. Joseph Mary (international school in punta del este), at least for the first year for both kids & possibly the entire time for my son (my daughter is bilingual so the transition should be easier & I expect I could move her to a local school next year)? I know I need to bring their school transcripts & vacicination records but do I need anything else?
Used to life with a dishwasher, washer & dryer. Not clear whether to bring these from U.S. Or buy in UY. Thoughts? Realized I may need adaptor & transformer. Given how expensive electric is, I'd prefer to do gas for the dryer. How expensive atre gas hookups?
