Brick wall insulation

Greetings to all!

Interested in learning if anyone has done any type of insulation of their brick walls? I've read articles of a few different ways to approach it and whether it's best to insulate inside or out. The consensus seems to be that it is best to insulate the exterior and one way of doing that is with EIFS which is a layer of rigid foam covered with synthetic stucco. I'm curious to know if anyone has had this done or know of anyone that has. I would think that this would be a popular service that a lot of houses would benefit from. Thoughts?
