New immigration rules

I just read this on Marita's newsletter.

5. Immigration News--Up to now, there have been different systems whereby people who want to immigrate to Uruguay have gotten numbers on the day they want to go to the office, or the day before. Now appointments must be made on the internet. The real change is that there can be only 12 new applicants per day. This limits the number of people who can apply for residency in Uruguay to about 2000 (individuals or families) per year, thus effectively limiting the number of people who can obtain temporary and then permanent residency in Uruguay.
