It has been pretty hot here on the coast but it is even hotter further north.

The weather office has issued an orange alert for Artigas, Paysandu, Salto from now up until next Monday with temperatures as high as 39C (102 F) and slightly cooler in Tacuarembo, Durazno, Florida and Colonia.

They have also closed one of the beaches for swimming in Atlantida due to high bacteria counts.
