Service Uruguay style

We have a swimming pool, it was one of the reasons we bought this house.

Not knowing much about them, our realtor gave us the name of someone who looks after many of the pools here in Atlantida.

We have used him now for over four years and he comes once a week with a helper and cleans the pool, looks after the chemicals etc.

A few weeks ago our pool seemed to be losing more water than it should so I stopped topping it up and showed him how much is was dropping in a couple of days. He thought we had a leak so promised to show up last Wednesday with his repair man who we had used once before to see what the problem might be.
Well, Wednesday came and went and no sign of them. Thursday the same.
Friday they arrived and looked at the pool and said they would be back this morning to drain it down to the lights as they thought that was where it was leaking.
Well,it is now almost 6.00 pm and no one has showed up. Perhaps they will come tomorrow.

This is the norm here, when they do come, I do not expect any apology or reason why they did not come as promised. In fact, if you act a little annoyed, you may never see them again!

If you find this aggravating, then Uruguay may not be the place for you. This is how it is done here.
