Downturn in imported goods

It seems there are fewer imports being bought here this year especially large ticket items such as home appliances, TV's, expensive watches, pleasure craft and automobiles.
Consumer's seem to have less confidence in the economy, more uncertainty about their jobs and are less willing or less able to access credit.
