Why to Avoid Uruguay Citizenship?

Hello everyone,

I learn recently that Uruguay citizenship is one of the best and it has many benefit. Also, I learned that law to get citizenship is not complicated comparing to other countries, which is basically to live at least for three years if you were married and five years of you were single, and with other legal papers you earned your new passport.

Besides, good number of people told me that Uruguay is free from racism.

However, today I read that article that suggests otherwise:
http://nomadcapitalist.com/2015/07/22/how-to-get-uruguay-citizenship/
One of the things that disturbed me was the following:

"The challenge is that Uruguay has started to develop a reputation for not naturalizing foreigners who ask for it based on the guidelines. And if you’re Chinese or Arabic, forget it; you’ll never become Uruguayan."

Is it true? If yes, why?
