New to forum and looking into moving to uruguay

I am just starting my quest into moving to uruguay. So please don't flame me and tell me to search topics. I have not got that far yet.

I wanted to start out by saying hello. Hopefully make some contacts, and gather some fresh info.

So for starters, I have never been to uruguay. Have not visited. But this is where my search has brought me so far. I am fed up with the the way people think, act, and we'll pretty much everything about the US.
So I started my search looking for some where with a warmer climate. I can handle cool and rainy...but no snow. So I looked south. What attracted me to uruguay, is the simplicity, the open country, and the still old style I guess I will call it. But the eagerness to advance. I want to live somewhere that wants to turn things around. I want to actually do things that make a difference and not just a job.

Now, I have to say I have obstacles in order to get there. For one I get lost when people speak Spanish too fast. I still don't speak it very well, I am broke and have no residual income once I am there. I try saving but I also have things I'm trying to do to try and get some sort of money pile going. I am very intelligent and we'll rounded. And my last challenge, I have a criminal record.

I'm not a bad guy. And most everything I do I do for others. Including giving them the last $10 I have so they can eat and feed their family some sort of meal. I've never harmed anyone or done anyone wrong in any way. Yes hard to believe that with a criminal record, but it's 100% true.

I served in the military to do good for others. Only to come back and see people winning, crying and protesting. Then you turn on the tv and mass shootings, athletes getting into trouble will the countries youth looks up to them....my list is a mile long now and I'm done.

So anyone willing to share with me. Help guide me. Whatever. Anything and everything is welcome.
