In California we made our own kefir from whole (raw) milk on a weekly basis. I understand that the sale of kefir is illegal in Uy on supposed health grounds. Kefir is similar to yogurt and is no more prone to health problems. To the contrary, it is much more healthy for the GI tract as it colonizes same with beneficial bacteria that tend to last much longer than 1-2 days. Specifically, I am looking to obtain live kefir kernals to use as a starter culture.
