Well, I already know I need Castillo spanish in my toolbox. That will be somewhat difficult to learn while not immersed in it. Estoy aprendiendo, I suppose.
I am currently using Babel. Any recommendations on learning?
A few of the major hitters that have most likely been answered (I am just signing up, so I have not checked out the forum yet):
What's the deal with importing cars? LOL I guess my subi from PA won't be making the trip.
Serious questions:
What do ex-pats do for healthcare? What is healthcare like in Uruguay?
What should I research for health insurance?
Homeowners insurance?
Auto insurance?
Individual insurance?
What is taxation like? I think from what I read its graduated based on income.
Firearms - Hard stop or ?
Banking, financial.
Internet infrastructure? How is "the last mile"? I will be making most of my income through IT work.
My wife has a few friends already there. Before I engage them, I want to do my own research before I am exposed to their bias'. I'm not saying theirs is right, wrong or indifferent. I just want to understand more as I talk to they who live there.
I'm looking for honest input. It might come out through this research that I realize Uruguay won't be a good fit for my wife and I. Its something I DO have to keep in mind.
Well, hello everyone. I hope you will forgive some redundant questions. Maybe they will help rekindle some discussions for 2023.
best to all..
Mike
