Hi,
We are considering moving to Uruguay for retirement.
What is the culture regarding noise (parties, music, etc.) at home?
Is it a frequent occurrence that you are disturbed by noisy neighbors? Or do Uruguayans generally maintain quiet at home out of respect for neighbors?
Of course, we understand there are occasional family gatherings, holidays, etc. but do they make an effort to manage the noise levels? We've had neighbors in the past who had no regard for others and would play loud music with a heavy bass for hours, often late into the evening, which made living in the same neighborhood with them quite miserable.
As retirees, we would likely want to live in a larger apartment in a very secure and safe place so we don't have to hassle with burglary and/or trespass. Someplace with active security, preferable where they will keep things quiet and peaceful. Any suggestions where to look?
