Info needed to start a business in Vietnam

I have recently been to Vietnam and I am very keen on finding out how to start a business there. Therefore I am currently researching on what it takes get one started.

I'm particularly interested in what kind of business structure to create based on the requirements.

Here are some of the questions I currently have:

1. My business will be involved in the food and beverage industry (maybe setting up a cafe) and exporting Vietnamese coffee. Based on this, which of the two is recommended? A 100% foreign owned company or a Vietnamese Joint venture company? (or is there another alternative?)

2. What kind of incentives does the government provide for foreign investments?

3. How big of a difference in terms of benefit between the foreign owned company and the joint venture?

4. Will there be any restrictions in my line of business in terms of ownership percentages?

5. What would be the tax rate for a business in the food and beverage industry (e.g, setting up a café) and exporting coffee?

I am also interested in these factors

1. What location do you recommend? I have been to Nha Trang and Hoi An and I see potential there. Saigon is also another possibility due to the expat community there.

2. What is the initial start-up to open a cafe?

3. What kind of cost and paperwork is involved to export Vietnamese coffee?

Any advice or resource would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
