Ho Chi Minh or Vung Tau..please help!

Hello, I am 22 years old and planning to move to Vietnam in September. However I can't decide whether to move to Ho Chi Minh or Vung Tau. I currently live in Moscow and so was hoping to escape the city for a while which is why I thought Vung Tau, but then I plan to be there a year and Im worried that I will grow bored. Obviously as I am still young I wish to have a good social life. Any suggestions on which to choose? Thank you!
*Just to be clear, i am English, therefore Native. I currently live in Russia teaching English.
*I have a BA(Hons) degree, a PGCE (this allows me to teach my degree subject at colleges and Universities in Britain) and a CELTA. Finding a job in Vietnam will not be a problem for me. The problem is which city to choose to live in in terms of social life, crime, living costs, etc, so please any advice on that would be extremely helpful.
