Hi everyone! I am new to this community and so eager to get information on Vietnam expat issues...I am Spanish/Canadian and have recently taken my CELTA course, with the clear objective in mind of moving to Saigon this year. My concern is this:
I have read about some not so great experiences of people securing a contract from their home countries only to find great disapointment once in Vietnam (salary not as promised, iffy schools, etc), but still the prospect of arriving at Saigon empty handed seems risky...So there go (some, I don´t want to overwhelm anyone!) of my existential questions:
Is it really that easy to find decent ESL teaching jobs in Vietnam upon arrival?
Although my accent is 100% canadian and I have native English level and a B pass in my CELTA, my BA is Spanish (Art Restoration). Does anyone know if this will be a problem in order to get hired?
How´s nightlife in HCMC? ( As a Spaniard, this is always a concern haha)
These questions are pretty random and perhaps don´t make that much sense all together in one post...but quite frankly I´m not only new to this forum but also clueless in general when it comes to this things!
