I am sorry one of our members had a bad experience in SJDS. My experience was quite the opposite...my hostel was very secure (Rosy's) but in town on the main drag, so it was noisy...The motorcycles are louder than the trucks...I had no problems with homos, pimps, drug dealers...but then I was surfing all day at the beautiful beaches and was too tired to go out all night clubbing where one might become marked for drug or prostitute solicitation ...I met my best friend on the second day there in the square outside the Catholic Church after Sunday Mass (HE should try it sometime) who also became my Spainish teacher. I found a nice Penticostal Church about three blocks from there later. I found lots of very nice people there in SJDS and made some very good friends. The only thing that would prevent me from settling and investing in Nicaragua is the political climate...I am waiting to see if El Presidente takes any radical directions. Like any other place...get all your prices up front...taxis...rooms..cars rentals...and don;t forget to negociate...Cal
