rELOCATION TO NICARAGUA, FROM U.S., EARLY 2012

I am a female, late 60's seeking information on Leon and Granada. Will be visiting there in September. Are these places easily accessed from Managua; (distance as well). How is the humidity?. Apartment or small house rental situations. Any other suggestions rel. to specific locations away from Managua. Can I live comfortably on $1000 plus soc. sec. income Are there lots of expat gatherings in both places?. And, best way to learn more than just a little Spanish. Any other inf. and advice would be most helpful. Thanks, Judi
