How much is electricity? per KWH

I am trying to get my head around the upcoming change to my electric usage.

I understand that electricity is very expensive.

I think I understand that the company bills one rate for the first batch of electricity, then higher for the next batch and then higher still.

So as an example ( I am making up figures as examples):

0-250 KWH = $.10 a kwh
251-500 KWH = $.25 kwh
501-750 KWH = $.75 kwh

Am I correct on this assumption?

Or better yet, could someone explain how much it is and how the company bills for it?

Thanks in advance.
