We are in a current battle with our landlord over an electric bill. We need information from other expats please.
(1) The bill is for 4 weeks usage. The kWh usage was 487. The total bill is for 3,458.46 cordobas (roughly 138. USD$)
(2) In a 3 bdrm, 2 bath house, we run 2 fans during the day and 2 fans during the evening while sleeping. We use light from dusk to about 830 pm in evening. Other electric uses: washer, toaster, blender, refrigerator, water cooler, laptop, desktop computer and telephones. We use NO AC.
OUR PLAN: bring an interpreter with us when talking to electric company about the meters (4) that serve the Doraldina property. We will ask if our house is completely on a separate meter. We will ask for the meter to be read again and then will ask for a "black out" for one week to determine if the meter still runs when supposedly NOTHING is used.
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS???
WHAT IS YOUR AVERAGE BILL???
