Hi - I'm just about talked into moving to Nica, either Granada or Managua, and am trying to decide whether to go this summer, when I turn 62, or wait till I get full ss at 66, but I don't think I can wait that long. Have a son in Managua with his family, but the more I read about Granada, the more I think it might be for a single woman of 62 who knows no spanish but is ready for classes. I have always been shy, and would like to meet other expats my age plus my neighbors. I've only been to Nica once, last summer, but the folks were wonderful, friendly and so giving.
So I'm looking for someone or someones to correspond with (I guess email is the PC term) so I can ask all about it - how much will it cost me to live there, is it easy to rent a car vs buying one, did you come by yourself or with someone, what do you think of the hospitals/medical care, etc etc, you know, all the standard questions, but I would like to make a friend or two also. You can email me at [email protected]. I hope I'm not going to get spammed out of town now by posting this.
Anyway, I am so ready to come and the bottom line is that I cannot afford to live in the states, to retire in the states, and can't see any future for retirement here. Thanks. Suzanne
