Nicaragua visit

My wife and I are thinking of spending Mid November or mid December through the first three weeks in January in Nicaragua. Would the Pacific or the Atlantic side be best. What are the advantage of each. Are good rentals available on a month to month basis? What is the weather like during that time frame.
