How does cooperation work?

I have a question to all those who still have professional activities or are otherwise engaged in activities which imply cooperation with locals:

How does this cooperation work?
Is teamwork know and applied?
Do you have the feeling to be considered as a partner - with equal rights, tasks, responsibilities?
Or is there a tendency to let you do all the work and collect the fruit falling into the open hands...?
Do you feel "jammed" or is your impression the locals are happy about this cooperation and do everything to support your efforts?
