Escritura Registration

We bought a house in the department of Masaya in February and still do not have a registered Escritura. At the time Masaya was going through many changes, converting files to an electronic system (we were told). Our attorney keeps moving out the date that the paperwork will be ready. Recently he said that the official that does the registration process had been fired which is creating the delay. Has anybody else heard this. We are getting concerned that our attorney may not be telling us the truth. Does anyone have an English speaking attorney or person that we could hire to check on our paperwork?
