is it possible to live on 350dollars a month in Nicaragua?

Hey! Me and 2 of my friends are planning a 9/12 month stay in nicaragua. We are on a very tight budget and thus would like to find a nice quite place by the sea where we could settle. we will be sharing rent.. is it realistic to think we could live with 350/400 dollars a month each(food & drink included)?

A friend of mine stayed there for 6months and said he spent less then that but he stayed in El Cauce(which isn't any where near the sea). Will prices be a lot higher if we stayed in a non turistic area but close to the sea?

Thanks 4 helping out!!

Iain
