I drove a new very large commercial Ford cargo van 9,000 lb gross weight with a fair amount of stuff in it, some for a house, some for camping/kayaking, also with extra seats for picking up people from Managua airport, which I did, and sleeping platform. I have the vehicle still and my large dog. Going down I had a 27 yr old to help. He flew back early August and I am driving back alone except for the dog. I learned quite a bit, made some decisions. The border crossings were a lot of work and worry but did not have any problems or much cost at all.
