Best city for a young family

Hello friends! We are looking to relocate from Colorado in the next 2 years (or less). We have a 6 and 4 year old so would love a place with other young families (great schools too). We also would like to be in or very close to an expat community as I imagine most of our relationships will stem from there. I would love to be close to the beach as well. What are your favorite places? We are planning a trip to look for a home in the next 9 months, are there expat groups that meet up with future residents to give a lay of the land and advice? Thank you!
