Vehicle, electronics, furniture

I plan to move as a retiree in 2017. I was thinking to put all my stuff in a container and send it. But I do not if it is worth it. Electronics ( computers, TV's, tablets, washer/dryer, frigerator etc.) wondering if is better to bring them or buy them when I get there. Also my furniture although still good is already 8 years old. A container to send is going to cost roughly 5k. Anyone who recently moved or anyone who knows I would appreciate your input.
