La Prensa

When I'm away from my beloved Nicaragua I read La Prensa to stay informed. Sometimes I also read Hoy, a condensed tabloid version of the national daily.

Today an article appeared that grabbed my interest because it deals with a German tourist and his stolen debit card.

Apparently a year passed before Wolfgang discovered his debit card had been purloined. The thieves ran up more than eleven thousand dollars in charges in three days.

The article provides us with a lesson in security: When you leave your hotel room, take your valuables with you or leave them in the hotel safe.
