Bridge from Los Chiles to Nicaragua

Planning a road trip from Costa Rica to explore San Juan river area. Does anyone have current info on the new bridge crossing and road to Boca de Sabola? And does the road go any further? Yes I know it is the rainy season but I have a serious 4WD. Any recommendations to stay in San Carlos or Bocas area. Thanks for any helpful info.
