Of course, I intend to visit before making any big decisions, but I have been researching moving out of the US for some time. We are a family of 4/5, with 2 full time daughters, 13 & 4 & my bonus daughter, 11, visits us occasionally as well. My husband is an electrical engineer & I am a nurse, currently.
Initially, I had been looking in Costa Rica as my husband had spent a good amount of time there for work and really liked it, but I found what I was looking for, home-wise, to be quite expensive. A friend of mine lived in Managua back in 2015/2016 as an exchange student & met her husband there, so I decided to poke around at homes for sale. My favorite properties seemed to be around Laguna de Apoyo.
Can anybody tell me what that area is like? I would love to live near the water & mounts/hills alike, & it is so beautiful there. We're pretty simple people. We like festivals, & peace & quiet. We would need pretty solid internet access. & while not fluent, my husband & I speak some Spanish. We're working on that, though! I have not made any decisions as to which country we will expat to. I'm still in the research phase. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
