Winter rentals?

SL seems like it might be a good fit for us, a retired couple from the US. If we were to spend winters there, from about 11/1, 12/1 or 1/1 to 3/31, how easily could we find a furnished place? We'd want a 2 or 3 BR cottage or apt (for visiting friends) with at least 1.5 baths that would allow a pleasant dog. It could be fancy or not, clean and in good condition, preferably in a mixed expat and locals area rather than a gated community, and in town to be near various activities. Castries would be our first choice, only because there is a duplicate bridge club. We don't smoke and would want a non-smoking unit. Could we find a place that meets our needs? What price range would it be? Airbnb prices are mostly $2000+ US; that's too much! Are we likely to find just a few choices or many? We love to eat out. What are the prices like for street food and non-fancy restaurants? I assume there's no way to have a car. Is there good public transit? What about humidity during the winter? Any info you can give me is most appreciated!
