living in the Caribbean with kids

I have recently retired and my wife and I are considering leaving the cold winters of Michigan and relocating with our 8 year old son. We would like warm weather and an adventure. We also need to balance safety and education for our son. We prefer an English speaking school. We do not want too small of an island. We would also prefer a location that is not too far or expensive so family can visit easily. Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions.
