single professional mom moving to Medellin

Hi everybody. I am a single mom, and my son and I will be moving to Medellin in July. The company that I work for will take care of all the necessities (apartment, bank accounts, cell phones, utilities, cedulas, etc) so I don't really have questions about those. I have read numerous forums on living in Medellin, but most tend to center on the nightlife, hiring prostitutes, and that that sort of thing. Needless to say, my experience in Medellin will be quite different! I will be living in Poblado near Oviedo, and would like information on gyms near there, children's activities (my son will be 9), and fun day trips to take on the weekend. Also, grocery shopping tips and any information of that sort will be most helpful and welcomed!! Thanks so much!
