How to travel cheaply in Luxor

I had been overcharged by drivers of small and old taxis several times till my hotel recommended an MPV taxi to me. The leg room in this taxi is unbeatable and so is the air-conditioning. It comfortably seats 4 huge adults and the driver, Mr Hargard charges the same rates as the smaller taxis.
