50yr old wishing to move to and work in Guatemala

Ok this may have been asked a million times, so forgive me.

I have a sister doing missionary work at the Christain Academy of Guatemala, with her family. I wish to come down and try a 6 month visit to see how things go.

I am single, but have little work experience other than running a trucking business. My dream would be to work a fishing boat a deckhand, but that is not likely to happen.

I am also 400lbs and I am coming down to try to lose weight with the help of my sister and her family, any ideas on this or suggestions, please feel free to give them, thanks.

Driving down thru Mexico, any help with this scenario, how dangerous and expensive it may be, routing, etc....

Is there work for people like me down there, my spanish is very very limited , but I wish to learn as quickly as I can. I am willing to try most anything if I am not mistreated or any such thing like that, my tolerance is limited to being treated badly, otherwise I am very patient normally and follow direction well.

Guess I could go on but will limti this for now and see what response I get.
