Could anyone please give me an idea of prevailing salary levels for someone with an undergrad Ivy League degree in economics/business and more than 5 years of experience in management consulting?
I was born and raised in Casablanca to Moroccan parents, came to the US almost 11 years ago for school, and have been working as a management consultant since graduation. I am looking to make a career move (changing employer or even industry) and would really like to include moving back to Morocco to my options.
But after endless hours of scouring the web – recruiting portals (e.g., Rekrute, Michael Page, Trovit), large companies (e.g., Meditel, ONA, P&G, E&Y, McK), local publications (e.g., l'Economiste, Jeune Afrique), various blogs and forums – I still don't have the slightest idea what salary range someone with my background (but not accountant/banker or techie) should reasonably expect… It’s like trying to find highly classified info!!!
It’d be great if you could provide some benchmarks, however anecdotal... I’ve also noticed that most companies in Morocco go through recruiters to fill vacancies (as opposed to using their own HR.) If you have gone through that process, I’d love to hear about your experience, as I’ve never dealt with headhunters before.
Thanks a million for your input!
